Dear Friends,

Thank you for bringing your children to Levee Run Farm for lessons and camps. Introducing them to horses and horseback riding is very rewarding for me.   As always, please let me know if you must cancel a scheduled lesson either by the house phone (leave message) 662-453-9482 or cell phone 662-392-4189.

Horses require maintenance and upkeep for their well being.  We furnish helmets, boots, tack, the facility, instruction, and horse for the price of a lesson.

Have you always wanted your own horse? Try adopting one of ours for a few weeks instead! Campers ages 9 and up are invited to attend a very special riding camp for one or more weeks.

You will adopt a horse for your camp and will be responsible for his care - grooming for a ride, cooling him off with a bath, showing him off in the riding ring, or giving him a vacation on a trail ride. Daily riding lessons, trail rides, and unmounted lessons will help you master horsemanship skills. Day camps last from 9 A. M. to 1 p.m. A typical day at camp includes: riding sessions, horse management lessons, arts and crafts, games, and archery and homesteading. Campers learn to groom and tack up their horses with assistance, safe feeding and handling practices, and more. Our young Homesteaders will learn how to raise and transplant seedling vegetables, tending and harvesting the garden, care and feeding of farm animals, and selling our products at the Downtown Farmers Market.

Levee Run Farm Riding Camps Our day camps will offer campers the opportunity to learn basics of handling a horse safely from the ground, caring the horse before and after the ride, and riding in a group.  We integrate demonstrations and lectures, professional videos, and hands-on learning experiences. We stress safety - properly fitting ASTM-SEI approved helmets and sturdy boots that reach above the ankles with heels are required. We recommend leggings, tights or other close fitting stretch pants.

Full day campers will have instruction in archery and homesteading. Certificates will be awarded on completion of requirements in these skills. We are a member program of Certified Horsemanship Association and offer achievement certificates on completion of requirements. Master Instructors are certified in English/Western Levels 1 through 4.
